V-FORM is a revolutionary rigid packaging process developed by Progress Packaging that reimagines how premium packaging is designed, constructed, and delivered. Design Project collaborated closely with Progress to shape the creative vision of V-FORM — applying our expertise in graphic design, brand identity design, packaging design, and campaign design to launch this innovation to market.
From naming and visual identity to structural engineering and digital campaign execution, our work on V-FORM turned a technical breakthrough into a cohesive, design-led brand experience. The result is a complete packaging design system — bold, refined and built to inspire.

Design Opportunity
Traditional luxury rigid packaging often involves complex layering, glued coverings, and hidden construction. V-FORM eliminates these complications by introducing a v-shaped groove that enables precise folds and cleaner structures with less material.
This innovation presented an exciting opportunity to develop a visual and structural language that captured the elegance of the technique while creating standout results for brand owners and packaging designers. Our task was to frame the functionality through the lens of premium graphic design and visual storytelling.

Brand Naming and Identity Design
We created the name V-FORM to directly reference the defining v-shaped groove of the process. Strong, succinct, and intentionally industrial, the name became the foundation of a wider brand identity system.
We approached the logo design as a sub-brand of Progress Packaging, aligning it visually with the master identity. A reinterpretation of the Progress “arrow” symbol was used to form part of the V, symbolising both movement and structure — a visual shorthand for transformation.
To support this, we also developed the brand positioning line “Packaging Transformed”, articulating the core benefit of V-FORM for designers, converters, and brands looking for more innovation in their packaging design solutions.


Packaging Structural Design and Engineering
A major focus of the project was the design of the V-FORM sample pack — a tactile, physical tool that demonstrates the process in action. Using our expertise in packaging design and structural engineering, we created a bespoke format that explored the limits of the system.
Through hands-on prototyping, we helped define two of the process’s most distinctive features: two-way folding and the colour-edge reveal — a layered effect made possible by duplexed board. The sample pack was housed in a foil-blocked bespoke transit box, using Colorflute by GF Smith, and featured a 45-degree custom insert to reflect the angular language of the brand identity.

Packaging Graphic Design and Messaging
The visual language of V-FORM was shaped to echo the precision of the process. Drawing on our experience in graphic design for packaging, we developed a typographic system built around clean angles and confident form.
The pack features angled typography inspired by the v-cut motif, paired with bold headlines that clearly and playfully express the system’s benefits — from material efficiency to visual impact. This messaging was designed to unfold with the user journey, merging physical interaction with narrative clarity.


Material Innovation with GF Smith
We collaborated with GF Smith during the research and development phase, working with a variety of Colorplan and duplexed boards to test and refine the process. This material partnership was essential in unlocking the full visual and structural potential of V-FORM.
The result was the distinctive colour-edge effect, which became a key feature in both the structure and aesthetic of the pack — transforming functional creases into expressive, branded details.
Promotional Campaign
As part of our campaign design services, we brought V-FORM to market through a multi-platform rollout that combined digital storytelling with targeted user engagement.
At the centre was a custom landing page, featuring animated graphics, video demonstrations, detailed process explanations, and a lead capture form for sample pack requests. A bespoke header animation introduced V-FORM as a new benchmark in packaging transformation.
To amplify visibility, we produced a series of social media reels and motion pieces, developed for Instagram and LinkedIn, that communicated the innovation and personality of the brand in an engaging, easily shareable format.


Results
V-FORM has quickly positioned itself as a flagship innovation for Progress Packaging. It’s now being adopted across sectors such as beauty, drinks, fashion, fragrance, hospitality, and jewellery, offering a smarter, more sustainable alternative to traditional rigid formats.
More than just a manufacturing breakthrough, V-FORM is a fully realised brand and design system — one that fuses production intelligence with creative expression. From naming and structure to campaign and delivery, Design Project helped shape the identity and experience of V-FORM from the inside out.
